The easiest way to get me excited is with puppies and there were three between the teams tonight!
This venue is really starting to pick-up steam as we have recognized returning teams as well as those joining trivia for the first time. Tonight we watched four teams enter: Sacrown916, My drinking team has a trivia problem, Deep fried beer, and Bye, Bye Brian
********************Fun Fact of the Week******************
In round three there was a question relating to sea-faring diseases and it had me thinking of sicknesses of old. Namely, bed bugs. Did you know the origin of "Don't let the bed bugs bite"? Why do we say that??
Old style beds that were made in Europe and the Americas had mattresses that had to be tightened using cords after being stuffed with straw which is what made the mattress soft. If the cords weren't tense or "tight", insects would infest the straw inside the mattress. If people did not tighten there mattresses, they risked insect infestation and also the bugs biting them leading to the phrase "Sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite"
