Wow people brought their A-game tonight! What a way to leave my host position on a high note. It was a real nail-biter, as all teams entered the final round with first and second place looking like two Titans about to perform their final battle at 65 and 64 points. Both selected double or nothing, but only one team made it out with a high score of 85!!! That's the highest I've ever seen!
What a great night out........but i'm afraid this will be my very last night hosting King Trivia at any venue. I have to go to focus more on my career. I've worked for King Trivia for seven months now and it has given me a great boost to my confidence in social situations and great public speaking skills. I can't thank them enough for the opportunity they have provided me, so please be kind to my replacement whoever they may be. I envy the fun times they will have chatiing with you and giving you a headache with answers that are on the tip of your tongues.
******************FUN TRIVIA FACT OF THE WEEK******************
We are all familiar with the Jurassic Park series as they are continuing to come out with major motion pictures and video games. Hell, Dominion is yet to be released and the newest video game was just released on November 9th. I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm thinking of this series due to our picture round which depicted 8 dinosaurs and asked for their names which brings me to this weeks fun fact.
Today, I wanted to dive into the story behind the first Jurassic Park film's Trex. Many still say that this movie stood the test of time, and it is rumored that around half of the movie budget went into constructing "Roberta" (named by Dinosaur Supervisor "Phil Tippet"). The exact price is unknown as the recipe to make it is kept secret as proprietary information, but what i was able to find was a terrifying fact about the construction. This thing was life sized and had to be powered up in order to put it at its full stature and upright. The skin had to be pulled over its different sections and then glued and sewn on to the metal frame underneath. The only area where it wasn't possible to just reach inside and safely work was the torso, so one of the brave workers, Alan Scott, asked for the suit to be powered up and was sternly warning the crew to protect all power cords and not to touch anything while he worked because if the suit were to return to its off position, he would be crushed and torn apart by the metal and hydraulics. As bad luck would have it, the power went down for the whole studio! Scott was trapped inside shouting before curling up into a ball and hoping for the best. By some miracle, he was able to avoid injury and was later pulled out through the dinosaur's mouth. That has to be the only person who was eaten by a dinosaur off the movie and lived to tell the tale.
