For example, sometimes a team will have winning streak broken by outsiders who used to be regulars. Sometimes, they'll even be the exact same teams with near identical placements.
Sometimes, destiny comes to Rocco's. It's name? The 900DollaryDoos.
Previous champions Those People had been enjoying a solid win streak that may have boosted their confidence tonight, but they got humbled fast. They slipped the first double in round 1 allowing the DollaryDoos to grab the lead early. The top two positions kept tossing between them in a battle for the gold, with the final two rounds making and/or breaking them.
The DollaryDoos, with their well known reservoir of movie lore, doubled the Tarantino round with ease giving them an solid lead. Those People, determined, realized that in order to win they needed that last final double.
And as it turns out, Sao Paolo is not the capital of Brazil. Oops.
Their slip not only cost handed the win to the 900DollaryDoos, but allowed Perpetually Second Place to fulfill their prophecy and take silver!
At least bronze is nice, right?
