What an evening of trivia we had and a lesson on going for that double or nothing push!
The teams fought hard throughout the night with Sparklesaurus Rex, Happy Little Accidents, and the Quizzly Bears fighting for the top spot for a while. The Britz and Yankz had a secure spot on the second to last place prize for but things changed in the final few rounds.
Sparklesaurus Rex, had a great start scoring on their double or nothing and had to work to fight off the slow crawl of the teams behind them trying to take the lead (one point at a time)!
However, things got bleak in the 6th round as both the Britz and Yanks and the Happly Little Accidents failed to convert on their double or nothing. In the same round, both the Quizzly Bears and Sparklesaurus Rex could've doubled up if they had only checked the box! The results created a two way push for 1st and 2nd to last.
In the end, Sparklesauraus Rex was able to hold on while the Happy Little Accidents won second to last place on a controversial call from the quiz master (me) and the bartender (Rachel) as they decided to give them the prize for winning the tie breaker. The Britz and Yankz, thankfully did not riot and the building is still intact for next weeks trivia as the joyful tension rises!
