QUIZ RECAP

Quiz #299...my penultimate quiz at Sports Harbour! Reality is setting in for me, as I realize this iconic venue has officially changed hands and will be under new ownership October 1st. This was my first gig for King Trivia as I took over for the the previous host back in August of 2012. When I started, maybe 3 teams would show up to play, and the bar owner would look at me with a skeptical face. That soon changed as we built Wednesday nights into his best weeknight! I have seen many teams come and go through the years...I will miss them all. I have seen couples on teams become engaged, get married, have babies, disappear and return out of the blue! I have had major rock stars as regular players, and soon to be major celebrities as well. It has been awesome to see these lives take shape before my eyes!

One of the reasons I have loved hosting Sports Harbour has been the competition. Throughout the years I have been blessed with highly competitive teams, that respected each other. They would applaud each other when a team excelled, showing great sportsmanship! Of course, a couple of times we would get a new team who would try their luck at cheating. After being exposed, they saw the error of their ways, and either slinked away, or changed their ways!

It has been an honor, and pleasure to be your host! Quiz#300 for me will be next week,(a fitting number to end?) after that...I am not sure what is going to happen at Sports Harbour. I understand the new owner is going to keep the bar open as is for a while, but is not sure for how long and what his plans for the bar will be. Stay tuned, he might decide to do trivia as well!
