When Achilles started to get a cramp in his lower ankle, he was all: “Aw, man! That hurts!” Zeus heard him and, from on high, said: “That’s not my name, but can I help?” And Achilles was all: “What can I do for this ankle?” and Zeus was like: “Climb to the highest rock in the land. There you will see the Zoon-Whackadee Tree. Its leaves are rich in Plabeseus, a thick healing nectar. Put it on your ankle.” But before Achilles could say: “But how am I supposed to climb with my bum ankle?” Zeus was gone. So Achilles spent an entire day climbing the highest rock in the land, but saw no tree at its peak. “Hey, Zeus!” he called. “What’s up?” Zeus popped out of the clouds and said: “That’s not the tallest rock in the land. That is.” And pointed to another even taller rock with the right tree at its top. “Hey,” said Achilles, “instead of me climbing down this tall-ass rock and then climbing up that one, whattaya say you grab those leaves for me? I’m tired.” But Zeus was was gone again, so Achilles fashioned a harness from the drawstrings of his loin cloth and slid down to the ground again and that’s how the zip line got invented and a lot of people don’t know that. Point is this: Knowing your Greek mythology will keep you in good stead on trivia night, such as Tuesdays at The Tam O’Shanter. Let’s talk!

In honor of Round Two’s eighth question, the Drinking Round was "Who Can Do The Best Humphrey Bogart?” And boy, did teams bogey! We had “Play it again, Sams” and “Out of all the gin joints” and “A hot dog at the game is better than roast beef at the Ritzes” and the winner was Flux Capacitors for their use of props and pyrotechnics. Well done!

In third place was the vigilantly fluctuating Worms And Squares with 67 points. In second place with 70 points was Flux Capacitors. And dominating the night all night was the team called “We’ve Got A Black Guy On Our Team” with 78 points! Do you know how much fun it was to say that name over and over again? And they were always winning! Fun stuff!
