Well friends, paw-ternity leave with my 3-month-old was fun (picture attached!), but I missed you guys loads, and although I was fighting the cold from Hell, I was happy to be back.
Tonight was rough for some teams -- Party of 3 suffered a double-down mishap in Round 5, betrayed by the dastardly Super Sonics. It was hard to bounce back from that, and similarly, The Zucchinis had a rough time after the first couple rounds themselves. Trump Storms Normandy Beach had an unusual double-down faux of his own, and jumped the shark too soon on Guess Who?, so his score was lower than average too.
Some of you had fantastic nights, though! Mrs. Poopybutthole was by herself tonight, and in spite of insisting she needed the boys to help her out, she still got third place! Well done to the obvious backbone of the team! And you all finally Let The Wookie Win [second place], as they did well on their character mugs and McDonalds connections. Meeseeks and Destroy brought the whole herd to reign supreme, with a character mug double-down pushing them into the lead for the whole game!
We did try something new with Round 6 -- our teams could earn extra points if they were able to differentiate which bands had their numbers spelled out versus which had numerics. It didn't really seem to hurt or help anyone's scores, but getting 18 points without risk of a failed double-down was a nice change of pace, I think.
Excellent job to all my trivia nerds! If any of you catch a cold this weekend... please don't tell me; I'll feel terrible!
