Well last night was my 25th time hosting at The Bungalow and I sure learned a lesson myself... In round 6, players had to match the comic book villain to his/her alter ego. We had a record number of teams deploy Double or Nothing (DON). Nine of 11 teams did DON and eight of nine were successful so scores soared in that round. With those bold and successful attempts, I knew the players would be heated.
As I read the answers aloud, I was audibly corrected when I unknowningly mispronounced Magento as Mag-net-toh, not Mag-NEE-toh. I've never had such an impassioned reaction from the crowd and let me tell you I will not make that mistake again!
The teams were animated and lively throughout the entire game, as best demonstrated by their collective correction of my obvious lack of comic book basics. We welcomed some new comers and a regular to the podium to claim the top three spots.
Poppay, a group of three UCLA gals, claimed third. I Thought This Was Speed Dating, a group of regulars, snagged second. And husband and wife powerhouse team, Givy, took first place. Poppay has only played with us a few times and Givy was brand new. It was great to see them enjoy our weekly reprieve at The Bungalow and hope to see them back next week.
