QUIZ RECAP
Gosh, but it was rowdy last night at the Lion & Crown in Allen. The Bar Guy's team vacillated
constantly between apoplectic joy and giddy despair as they fell in and out of the winner's
circle all the way to Round 7. Excitement of excitements anticipated, processed and finally
purged, they ended up in a tie breaker for third place! Oh, the anguish. They lost. But, their
infectious enthusiasm and histrionic cheerleading always make them a joy to play with. Keep
on truckin', guys! Victory shall be yours once again, someday.
Stealth Texas snuck in for the gold, dramatically losing the lead at the halfway point, but
regaining it later in a furtive pass to the finish line. Matt, ST's founder, remarked early
in the evening that he and Tito had been going through past Recaps and noticed that they
hadn't won lately, therefore it was time to do so again. Darned if they didn't!
The return of the Bastard Barristers signaled their jurisprudent approach to a second place
victory. As rumored, lawyers never ask a witness a question they don't already know the answer to. Well,
in their case, they never answered a question THEY didn't know the answer to! And; with a
couple of strategically placed Double-or-Nothing's, plea bargained a win for 2nd!
Pickles on a Plate won the tie breaker from the aforementioned Bar Guy, thus eating the third
place marinated cucumber. Special mention to our resident champs, the Ninja Turtles. It was
Paul and his sister's birthday, for whom Quizmaster Lou led the pub in a chorus of Happy Birthday.
Unfortunately, QM Lou immediately forgot Paul's sister's name and ended up singing an awkwardly
long stanza expositing the dilemma. (My apologies once again.)
Also special mention to the Rockafellas, whose continual improvement is bringing them closer and
closer to a discount card! This week's parting shot commemorates self awareness... Surgeon
Joseph Henry Green was checking his own pulse as he lay dying. His last word: "Stopped."
Have a great weekend everybody!
