Quiz Master Lou's got a new bag! Spotlight on the Teams! In an effort to give back to those who make it happen, Quiz Master Lou is going to shine a light on the people who play King Trivia Pub Quiz. An interview of sorts, I passed out a short questionnaire (5 questions) to each team to find out a little bit about them. Here are the results...

How did your team get its name and what does it mean?
When Brian, one of our team members, was young in Philadelphia, his mom would send him and his sister into NYC to see a show and have lunch. Well, by the time they got to Sardi's, they had pretty much no $ (money) left, so when ordering, they asked for water all around and some "pickles on a plate..."

Guess Who? and Picture round.

What was your most memorable moment during a King Trivia Pub Quiz?
When the two Ninja Turtles got engaged.

What, if any, are the benefits of playing trivia games in pubs?
Alcohol consumption, of course!

Is life pre-destined or do things just happen randomly? And; What changes would you like to see?

Quiz Master Lou's Wrap-up:

Pickles on a Plate has always been my team for demonstrable erudition, eloquence and esoteric knowledge. They strive and surprise when the trivia gets out into some of the classical weeds and their intelligence is only matched by their kindness and good cheer. Dill, fried or sweet, I luvs me some pickles on a plate!

There was a birthday amongst the Pickles last night, but that member's modesty demurred recognition. (That's so like her!) In any case, the Pickles opened in the lead but finished third, being overtaken by Binge Thinking, who themselves competitively moved steadily into first position only to get ambushed in the final two rounds by the Ninja Turtles! Another great question set from our Quiz writers who focused on Valentine's Day stuff. (Round Seven was Quiz Master Lou's particular favorite, himself having been a stage rat at one point in his many lives!)
