QUIZ RECAP

The VIBE:

I totally dig this venue. Mood is important...and this place knows how to keep it low-key and cool. So, you could imagine my surprise when I walked in and said, "Whoa! Never before has this room been so bright! I can finally see all these smiling faces!"

I ran to the bathroom.

Came back.

BOOM - as dim as usual. Way to crush a boy's dream.

The GAME:

Round 1 was a 5 point breeze for most teams.

In Round 2/Pictures, one of my big shot daddy-o regular's - Gangrene Gang (who, ahem, DID apologize last week for walking out without saying goodbye)....handed in their answers very quickly. When I shot him a quizzical look, he smugly said, "These first two rounds were easy". What gall! What audacity! How dare he....oh, wow. They doubled-up. 16 points. Nice round.

In Round 3, Mr. T says: Curling is cool... FOOL! went for the double-up early and barely missed it! But I knew with that strategy, they were going to be a team to watch. (And yes. Don't bother asking. BEST team name of the night).

Round 4 stumped nearly everyone. Apparently nobody saw Captain America. Makes senes. It only made 1 billion dollars. In 2 months.

In an unusual Round 5, not one team was able to double-up. To make matters worse, Not In The R's (which I'm still convinced is something dirty) had a perfect round - but were on the fence - and didn't double up! Yowsers. Oh wait. Not in the R's. Ummm, I mean. Yowses.

The Drinking Round: Remixing a challenge from Quizmaster Paul, I had everyone take their favorite marvel character and pair it up with a TV show or movie. Winner - Game of Thorns.

Round 6 had back-to-back double-up's as the tension increased heading into the last round.

In Round 7, two amazing things happened.

1) I was absolutely appalled to learn that there have been NINE shows about the freakin' Real Housewives. Are you kidding me? And they canceled Pushing Daisies after TWO seasons?!!!!!!!!

2) I don't even remember the 2nd thing anymore. I'm still pissed.

The RESULTS:

PIMP's were a rowdy bunch of (newly registered!) eight players who triumphantly won the beer and 41 points.

My regular dynamic duo, BoozeCats (41 points), had some help tonight from some dude - which is my only explanation for why they did not place in the Top 3. I hope he reads this and feels ashamed.

Very much welcomed newcomers - Mr. T says: Curling is cool... FOOL! finished with a solid 52 points. Just behind....

3rd place - Not In The R's who came back disguised as a different name...but I recognized them. So I will also give myself 3rd place.

In the 7th Round, Third Place came out of nowhere with a Real Houswives double-up and ended up sneaking into the #2 spot!

However...our winners...in a remarkable "never trailed a single round" victory.......................GANGRENE GANG!!!!!
