QUIZ RECAP

The humid night at Tubby Hook Tavern looked like it would be a largely forgettable one at first, but as we saw with Hurricane Henri last weekend, when it rains, it pours. What appeared to be a low key night at 7:45 turned into 8 teams battling it out by 8:00, 3 of whom were playing at Tubby Hook for the very first time.

One of those new teams, Icebox, cautiously approached the Quizmaster's table before the game started and asked to enter, meekly declaring "I don't even know if we'll stay the whole time." Wouldn't you know it, they ended up pulling off a second place finish in the very last round finishing just above Sharper Than Peas, who went for it all with a Double or Nothing on the last round and came up with nothing.

After Round 5 though, it was KiwiPaisa's world and everyone else was just living in it as they hit their Double or Nothing en route to an easy first place finish - not a bad night for two ladies celebrating their 3rd anniversary together!

While there was one instance of something yelling out an answer to a question - "What is a four letter word for an opera solo?" - it turned out to be entirely understandable, as the duo who entered late were actually both opera singers overcome with enthusiasm to see their art represented.
