QUIZ RECAP

Last night was poised to be an interesting night when the microphone at Twisted Sage Cafe just stopped working. With no fix in sight, we made the decision to keep trivia no matter what. I passed out booklets and pens and told the players to listen up because I would be doing a lot of yelling. From here, almost everything progressed as normal. The questions were tough but the teams were tougher, just barely. Fab Four was a first time team name for a prior team called Estrada. Estrada played one night a few weeks back and got last place, but was able to grab the free beer round and guessed the connection correctly. This night, they brought two additional teammates and really gave trivia the business. EVERY SINGLE ROUND was noteworthy with first place changing hands and getting tied up faster than the phone lines at a radio show. At any given point throughout the night, almost every team was in the top 3. It really came down to rounds 5 and 6 as it often does. Smart but not in that way was back from last week and as vigilant as ever, trying to pull the win out. They were in first place for quite a while as well. Even the veterans of Big group small brains had a hard time staying ahead with the points the teams were putting up. In the end, the last round was the ultimate determinant of first place and the top 3 finishers were all just a single point away from each other. If that isn't incentive to register your team and return your pen then I don't know what is! In the end, Fab Four took it for the comeback story of a lifetime. They even grabbed the free beer round again. Any trivia scouts should pay close attention to this up and coming team.
