QUIZ RECAP

Great start to the Memorial Day Weekend! As one team renamed itself for the event - "Not Stuck on the 210 Freeway" seemed very appropriate. King Trivia provided a good variety of questions (including some sneaky ones) and a challenging Find the Connection round aka Crocodile NOT Alligator.

The venue provided their usual excellent food and beverage selection, including a free pitcher of beer or cider for the winner of the beer round (Horsethieves). The quizmistress continues to pursue her lonely campaign to aquaint people with the quaint place names in Ireland and really appreciated everyone's participation!

The Librarians aka 8-0-8 jumped into an early lead in rounds 2 and 3 with successful double downs but then scored -1 in the The Who Am I round (which caught a LOT of teams out) aka Danny DeVito NOT Jack Nicholson.

Several teams nearly caught up in the later rounds, showing impressive knowledge of celebrity criminality (EVERYONE got Hugh Grant correct which gladdens my British heart) and the characters in the Village People.

But the Librarians aka 808 prevailed, and the game ended with the tiebreaker which Horsethieves just edged out Island of Gilligan by successfully coming closer in their guess of the world record # of flapjacks made in one day (12,716)
