This was truly a Scoob-tastic event! Not only did each team sucessfully name each member of Mystery Inc., but for the photo round team Escargot knew that Linda Cardellini played Velma in the Scooby-Doo movie. Zoinks! Team Escargot also featured the best of the best of Chico State's seniors in the Engineering Department - or so I was told, but I might have my suspicions (kidding!). This team was also proud to boast one of their player's status as the youngest supervisor at the Chico Kohl's and we all had to celebrate that accomplishment.
Beer and Bones lives up to their name as a team of graduate level anthropologists! They might be even better at trivia than osteology though. Coming in first place, they're apparently not academics for nothing and made matching scientific names look like second nature! Only time will tell if their brains are as big as they showed off last night.
Hot for Teacher earned their Van Halen reference for being the oldest of the players and they didn't want anyone to forget it! They brought the heat for questions coming from the 60s-90s and might have beaten Beer and Bones if they only remembered more facts about Forest Whitaker - better luck next time! They were certainly the winners of the most beer drank and most excited which - for me - is the true victory of the night no matter what the scores say.
It was a great night at Chico Woodstock's and the next time the emo kid with blue hair hosts trivia (next week!) I'm certain I will be seeing some familar, smiling faces.
