QUIZ RECAP

We had 23 teams and 116 players (plus one hamster! 🐹) brave the *pouring* rain 🌧️☔ to join us for an especially awesome night of trivia! Extra shout out to the brave and rowdy teams that sat on the covered section of the patio! We were so fortunate to have Jessica from Lagunitas sponsor tonight’s trivia, with stickers, free beer samples of Contents Under Pressure 🍺, a ton of fantastic prizes, and a pitcher of beer each for the podium teams midway!! After Round 1, Sneak Attack and Modern Vampires (aka Super Weenie Hut Jr) were tied for 1st, with half of the other teams that had signed in at that point all tied in 3rd! In Round 2, the award for Top Team went to… Modern Vampires, with Best Supporting Team (2nd) to Sneak Attack and Runner Up (3rd) to Cartknight. In Round 3, the theme was BEER so we all studied hard by ordering another round and enjoying those free samples and discounted pitchers. 🍻 Chest Nuts rolled up to tie Modern Vampires for 1st, with Sneak Attack biding their time in 3rd. Each of the 3 teams in the lead at that point won a pitcher of Lagunitas! In Round 4, five teams got the place correct at the 10 point level: Sneak Attack, Modern Vampires, Joffrey was Right, Santa’s Little Helpers, and Cartknight. Modern Vampires staked their claim on 1st, and Chest Nuts tied Sneak Attack in 2nd. In Round 5, it was Miss Scarlett with the brick in Ruby Tuesdays! An astounding *15* teams found the connection, leaving the few remaining teams “marooned.” Modern Vampires continued to sink their fangs into 1st, leaving Chest Nuts roasting on an open silver pedestal, and Sneak Attack nipping at their heels. (If you started singing a certain holiday carol to that, I owe you a high 5!) Also, special guest Ian dropped in - he was the Woodstocks Trivia quizmaster before covid struck, so that was a fun treat for our old skool teams - myself included, as I was a Woodstocks player back then! Round 6 was all about (dramatic voice:) The Theatre! Sneak Attack did their thing and snuck into 1st, Modern Vampires were stunned in 2nd, and Chest Nuts was waiting in the wings back into 3rd. And then in Round 7, it all came down to *GASP* a rival pizza chain!! Modern Vampires tried to win back 1st, but in a surprising twist, they missed an answer with a Double-or-Nothing and dropped off the podium for the only time of the night! Chest Nuts held onto 3rd, with Sneak Attack one point above them in 2nd, and just one point above THEM, out sneak attacking Sneak Attack, Cartknight  catapulted back onto the podium and into 1st place 🏆 with a Double-or-Nothing. The kicker: 2nd and 3rd place teams both got 10 points that round, and either would have been top spot if they’d just clicked that box! Oh man, what a crazy night! You never know what’s gonna happen! Meanwhile, Society Ruined “Daddy” won Best Team Name. Our winning teams won Lagunitas swag like t-shirts, cups, fanny packs, and stickers, in addition to Woodstocks gift certificates, and of course, bragging rights.
