QUIZ RECAP

Another good mix of regulars and newcomers at the AC Lounge in Irvine this week. Coming out of the gate strong was "Three's Company (minus one)" who kept their lead from Round 1 all the way to Round 6. "Kill the Wizard" and "Hi! I'm Bill Drink This" were neck and neck with each passing round, with a single point between them for the entire game. "Poopers", a team consisting of the AC Lounge bar crew, held their ground, but remained in 4th place for nearly the entire game.

And then Round 7 happened.

"Name the 8 current NFL teams that have been to at least one Super Bowl, but have never won the big game".

Each team was given 10 minutes to come up with their answers. "Three's Company (minus one)" got 6 of 8 teams correct, putting them at 29 points in the 7th Round. "Hi, I'm Bill Drink This" did nearly as well, with 5 out of 8 teams correct. "Kill the Wizard" was the heart breaker, with 7 out of 8 teams correct, and a failed Double or Nothing, putting him at 20 points in Round 7.

But then came "Poopers", the comeback kids. Up until this point, "Poopers" was doing well, but was dragging behind in 4th place. But after successfully naming 8 out of the 8 teams AND checking the Double or Nothing box, "Poopers" moved from 4th place to 1st place in the final round, taking the game.

Unfortunately for "Poopers", but in a stroke of luck for "Kill the Wizard", "Poopers" was ineligible for the $20 gift card to the bar (being as they were employees of said bar), so "Kill the Wizard" ended up taking home the 3rd place prize of $10 after all.

So once again, an exciting game right up to the finish. We'll see you all next week.

QUIZ RECAP

Another great game at the AC Hotel Lounge, and this time around all three winning teams were newcomers to King Trivia. "007" jumped into the lead in round one, and kept their lead all the way to the bitter end, finishing the game with an astounding 48 points. Second place went to "John at the Bar", a team of one, who also managed to keep their 2nd place spot for the entire game. But"Best Pals" and "Dolphins" were where the true battle lied, taking and losing their leads 4 times throughout the course of the game, with "Dolphins" eventually taking home the 3rd place prize by a single point.

The best part about hosting trivia in a hotel lounge are the people that didn't plan on playing, but end up walking away with prizes, and this weeks game was no exception. Three strangers quickly became bitter (but friendly) rivals in the course of a heated game of King Trivia. '3 Wines and a Cocktail', a team of 4, were the early favorites, with a 6 point lead in Round 3. But 'John K.', a lone wolf with an extensive knowledge of the Las Vegas Strip, rocketed ahead to a 2 point lead in Round 5. 'Brophtroph'  and '3 Wines and a Cocktail' did everything they could to fend off the competition, but 'John K.' struck again in Round 6 with a stunning 8 points in the "Not Bad for an Oldman" hand out round. It was heated to the very end, but 'John K. sealed his first place victory with 39 points, with '3 Wines and a Cocktail' a mere 4 points behind.
