QUIZ RECAP

Ohhhh dang a smaller crowd (especially at the start) but things busied up as the night went along and teams were bolstered by cavalry on most sides. 
Pasadena Peeps prevailed by a small margin. Finally I learned Bob's name and was reacquainted with Ken. Mike took the usual back to the camera for their photo. Katie and Cullen had seen my fun appearance on Mr. Mayor and we had some laughs about it- they almost brought me a pineapple! (You would have to watch my episode to understand- season 1 ep 9). It was a tie breaker for second place between the very aptly named Second Cousins and Los Colchones, with the latter eking out second- also congrats to Los Colchones for winning the drinking round. 
BTW- Happy Women's Equality Day- some people tried to tell me it was ALSO Nat'l Dog Day or some such nonsense but I am NOT going to sully Women's Equality Day with a lousy dog reference! I had them send a rep for their team (mandatorily a woman if any on team) up to compete in a TV Numbers game. Name any tv show with a number in the title. It was an extensive list that I had compiled but Los Colchones beat out the other teams easily, even making an Adam-12 ref!

It was a rocky start but things smoothed over and it turned into a rather fun evening. I had three new teams near me in the front and I was able to interact with Trivia Rodrigo and Never Done This Before (nice job winning the drinking round!) to good effect.

We played outside on the side patio alley and while being stationed on one end made it a bit difficult to hear for the team at the way other far end of the patio, they were able to play the game just fine (as far as I know).

It was back and forth with Drunk in Public holding the lead for most of the game, but Purple Monkey Dishwasher had a couple of big double downs in the last few rounds to earn them first place. Third was rounded out by Second Cousins.

For the drinking round, I had them guess what Google's stock price ended the day at on this day in 2004 (their first day on NASDAQ).

QUIZ RECAP

It was fun, it was safe, it was great to be back. It had been more than 510 days since I last hosted King Trivia in person and the players at Barney's Beanery in Pasadena welcomed me back with open arms. 7 teams entered the ruckous and all came out unscathed with smiles. After a few technical snafus (the new KT online system is awesome) the evening carried on with much joy and many more bad jokes. The first few rounds were quite close and then the Pasadena Peeps doubled-down and would not be caught for the rest of the evening (they also won the drink round too), which is a lot to say for the team that hid behind a giant bush all night. Second place went to Gen XYZ; who knew so many UCLA grads could make it happen. Third place was close and Just for Fun was able to beat out P-XAS by one point. I hope y'all are looking forward to next Thursday... I know I am.
