QUIZ RECAP

After two weeks off it was great to be back with my Barney's people 🙂 Had a fun night- for the drinking round, in honor of Annie Taylor being the first person to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel on this date in 1901, I asked them to come up with other methods of people going over the falls. Three teams tied with 4 methods but it was The Greatest who won the tie breaker (you can be fined up to how much $ if you go over the falls? [it's illegal], $25k max fine). In the end, it was I'm Not Saying That taking first with a giant double in the final round, Second Cousins winning a tie breaker to take (yup, you guessed it, second!), and Where the White Women @? taking third (they would've taken second if they had registered their team).

What a night at Barney's Beanery Pasadena! The players (or playas as some of them prefer to be called) answered questions about Sex and the City, female politicians, and indie films starring Saiorse Ronan--a very special shout out to the team who said Laurie Metcalf was nominated for her work in Something About Mary--I may have missed her in that one, but I'll keep an eye out next time.

A big congrats to our winners Da Bears, our second place team the Pasadena Peeps, and our third place team Club Obi-wan, who snagged that spot with an impressive successful double in the final round.

Thank you to all the players for coming out tonight and making this such a fun show, as well as the kind staff at Barney's Beanery. It was a pleasure serving as your quizmaster this week.

Thanks for the awesome night you guys! Purple Dishwasher took the lead and held on to it, but there's no denying the real battle royale was just to get in the top 3.

The Uggo Buggos managed to stray from the pack, scoring the most points in the final round and finishing in a solid second place. However, Miracle and Harry Potthead found themselves in a dead locked tie! The teams how to guess- what's the World Record for most weight bench pressed by man?

By a narrow margin of 30 pounds from the correct answer (885), Miracle was able to seal their victory and take home the bronze! Boy, hope that wasn't awkward for the car ride home- they were roommates!
