Basketball may have started the night, but by 9 pm, all ears were peeled for hot trivia drops as $150 worth of prizes were up for grabs for the astute and quick-witted.

Round 1 was a bit of a warm-up as many teams were a bit stumped by a few, but a record number were able to secure the question of the day by following us @kingtrivia .

Their early shortcomings were immediately outpaced as almost all teams got perfect scores, and many of those doubled down. Those who fell behind in round 2 threw themselves fully into the fray and closed the gap over the next few rounds, fighting over every point, while Suck McCockly was able to double in the high-value rounds - that's right, plural - and leap-frog into a dominating position to win the night!

We started off the round with East Coast Sneaky Flute Music grabbing an early lead, but they were quickly caught by My Way in round 2. Team Men would lead the pack and take the lead in round 3, after a goose egg at the start, and they would hold the game for the next few rounds until, with a devastating misplaced double, they were unseated and surpassed by Gossamer, can I get a spot? They maintained enough steam to achieve third behind Defective Pikachu and the round 1 leaders East Coast Sneaky Flute Music.

The game started off with a wide spread of scores, but only the "Coalition for the Liberation of Itinerant Tree-dwellers" would be able to seize that coveted double-down. "100% midwest beef" was able to double in round two, a higher-value double down, along with the "Top Chedd", Catching up to the leaders. "Free drinks on me" lead the pack in round three, but the overall points would be led by Top Chedd as teams did their best to decipher the scores, but remained middling across the board.

Eager to cover some ground, many teams launched in early in round four and their haste was met with some minus points, shaking up the ladder and allowing a few to close the gap but a few to pull farther ahead.

As the high-value rounds began, some teams dropped out in face of the high-value double down seized by free drinks on me, Milo's punk rock playlist, and others. But would launching 20 points ahead be enough? As teams slid into the final rounds gathering every point they could, Only "my sweet sweet beans" with a grasp of the brass ring played and seized the double down, Almost doubling their score and launching them into a tiebreaking finale with Milo's punk rock playlist, where the sweet sweet beans after some last-minute consideration gained the prize!
