About Barrel & Ashes

The restaurant has been stripped back to its original 1940's structure and creatively redesigned by Ricki Kline, to bring family style Southern hospitality to Studio City. The majority of the restaurant's interior and exterior has been completely remodeled, with the exception of the original 1940s tile-work that was discovered during construction and meticulously restored. Indoor seating consists of communal tables, classic table seating, and a chef's counter with a front row view of all the action. Patio seating features picnic style tables reminiscent of a Texan barbecue.

Guests can enjoy chef-driven traditional American barbecue at Barrel & Ashes seven days a week. The menu focuses on family-style service with daily specials from our chefs, drawing from their travels and cherished family recipes. Meats are all smoked over coastal California Red Oak and cooked over White Oak. Some of the traditional side dishes are true to the recipes of Hollingsworth's mother, while others have been creatively adapted and developed.

Oooh, boy! It was the first Barrel and Ashes trivia night held in the down stairs main restaurant, also known as "The Gauntlet" in King Trivia parlance. Five teams played but as always, only one team, the solo PISTACHIO came out with the top prize!

But that wasn't before a round 7 TIE, baby -- the thing this Quizmaster quite literally lives for!! There we were; Pistachio and Dewers & Water each had 48 points following the round 7 question which asked teams to list the 9 cities/areas "The Real Housewives" reality show series has taken place (which, by the way, is far and away the most well-received question I have ever seen in any trivia game anywhere).

The tie breakers came, "What is the capacity of the Michigan stadium?" And by a margin of 55,932 seats, Pistachio took the victory and a $20 gift card!

WHOO! Another Tuesday in the books, another 6 long days until we can do it again!

Had the BEST time guest-hosting trivia at Barrel & Ashes. The teams were super evenly matched in the first few rounds, but the DJ Khaled round was the Red Wedding of King Trivia, and flipped the game on its side. Well done, everyone!

Another Tuesday another night of trivia for Barrel and Ashes! This week four teams pitted themselves against each other for Q&A supremacy.

Participants answered questions about football, Green Day and chemistry in what was one of the most challenging trivia night's in this host's recent memory.

With a few successful double downs from Matt and All His Friends and People we saw front runners established and maintained.
