QUIZ RECAP

*Trigger Warning: this post contains an abundance of really stupid puns.

Animals are taking over Brouwerij West! The top three prizes all went to teams with animals in their names: CAT Earth Society in first, Pacific Coast DOG in second and Mild STALLIONS in third! But it didn't always look like that was going to be the case during this wild trivia night.

The first several rounds had lots of teams tied for first with Pacific Coast Dog at the bottom of the PACK after a failed double or nothing in round 3. Every single week Pacific Coast Dog starts the game without a lot of points and then comes back to place in the top three. I guess you could call them the underDOGs each week!

Cat Earth Society on the other hand started the game with a lead they maintained the entire game. In other words they didn't have to CATch up at all!

As for the Mild Stallions they actually tied for third with the Killer Klowns. But when it came to the tie breaker they weren't HORSING around and were able to snag the title of third place.

In the end I guess it was a dog eat dog competition at Brouwerij West. (Or rather a cat eat dog eat horse eat clown competition)

QUIZ RECAP

It was so good to be back at Brouwerij West after a several week hiatus. All the familiar faces and trivia masterminds were there trying their luck. Almost every team shifted drastically throughout the game except for one team that stayed in first the entire game. That team was Counter Intelligence who kept doing double or nothings even after they had the game in the bag. In second place was Pacific Coast Dog coming from the bottom of the pack in the middle of the game and third place was That's a Tasty Burger. We also had a guest appearance from future Quizmaster Mo who did round 3. There was a vast variety of questions, but it didn't stop the Brouwerij West trivia crowd from knocking it out of the park as always!

QUIZ RECAP

Trivia definitely was only the second most exciting event last night since the Dodgers were playing! Even though the MLB stakes were high, the teams didn't let baseball distract them and brought their A-game to the trivia scene. It was a brutal battle to the end for both the trivia teams and the Dodgers. While the Dodgers didn't win, trivia was a big success.

Highlights included:

• A team writing "Men in Black" for almost every answer in the Alien Picture Round
• Me attempting to describe math symbols verbally (Alligator mouth over a line? Vertical squiggle? Roman E?)
• SO MANY ROUND 7 DOUBLES! Most I've ever seen!
• Not one... not two... but THREE doggies on the Pacific Coast Dog team, who all posed perfectly for their group photo (very good boys/girls... they deserve extra treats)

From the beginning, Counter Intelligence took the lead and maintained it with successful double after successful double - it was no surprise that they walked away with the first place prize! Second place went to Pacific Coast Dog, who had a slow start but came back HARD with three successful doubles for 20 points apiece in Rounds 5, 6, and 7. In third place, Hey You, Beer Me was rewarded for a consistent performance in each round as well as the only correct 10-point guess in Round 4's "Guess Where".
