QUIZ RECAP

Trivia definitely was only the second most exciting event last night since the Dodgers were playing! Even though the MLB stakes were high, the teams didn't let baseball distract them and brought their A-game to the trivia scene. It was a brutal battle to the end for both the trivia teams and the Dodgers. While the Dodgers didn't win, trivia was a big success.

Highlights included:

• A team writing "Men in Black" for almost every answer in the Alien Picture Round
• Me attempting to describe math symbols verbally (Alligator mouth over a line? Vertical squiggle? Roman E?)
• SO MANY ROUND 7 DOUBLES! Most I've ever seen!
• Not one... not two... but THREE doggies on the Pacific Coast Dog team, who all posed perfectly for their group photo (very good boys/girls... they deserve extra treats)

From the beginning, Counter Intelligence took the lead and maintained it with successful double after successful double - it was no surprise that they walked away with the first place prize! Second place went to Pacific Coast Dog, who had a slow start but came back HARD with three successful doubles for 20 points apiece in Rounds 5, 6, and 7. In third place, Hey You, Beer Me was rewarded for a consistent performance in each round as well as the only correct 10-point guess in Round 4's "Guess Where".

QUIZ RECAP

The stakes were high on Wednesday as nine teams duked it out for a top three spot. Scores were all close through Round 3, with almost everyone successfully doubling Round 2. Round 4's "Guess What" stumped everyone! Many teams guessed "Frisbee" as the answer to the object, so there were a lot of lost points dealt out. The correct answer was "yo-yo" and the teams that guessed it correctly surged ahead into the lead.

First place went to Uncomfortably Dumb, which was well-deserved as they managed to correctly double down on multiple rounds and score a whopping 85 points. In second place, Counter Intelligence had three doubles under their belts and ended with 77. Dead Last defied their team name and snagged the third place spot despite their unsuccessful double in Round 6!

QUIZ RECAP

Wednesday Trivia was a blast from the past at Brouwerij West! We had a 90's video game round that challenged everyone - especially the "Sims Theme Park" answer. The questions were tough this week so most scores stayed low, and the race for the top three spots was neck and neck.

In the end, we had a tiebreaker for 3rd between Team Kavanova and Turd Ferguson. Their representatives had to guess the miles of coastline in Florida, and Team Kavanova was closer and took home the 3rd place spot. Second place went to Pacific Coast Dog, and I would advise they change their name to Pacific Coast DOGS because they have so many cute pups. Counter Intelligence led the pack with 57 points - and though they were not in the lead throughout most of the game, they pulled through at the end with 10 points in Round 6 to pull into the top spot.
