Why is it called (and spelled) Ciclops? It's lovingly named after the late Kolby Garrisons' wife, Cindy. She has only one 'eye/i'... in her name. Kolby started home-brewing hard cider for Cindy in 2014. That hobby soon became a partnership for the Garrisons and their close friends, Michael and Rachel Wilcox. They wanted to build a place with good drinks, good people, and a strong sense of community. In Kolby's words, "We want to break down those barriers. It doesn’t matter; male, female, black, white, whatever... That was our hope for this town." They opened Ciclops Cyderi & Brewery in Sept, 2015, with that goal in mind.

Why "Making Absurd the Norm"? Ciclops' beers and ciders reflect the character of not only the founding four, but also of staff members who give their all to make CC&B seriously fun. We love non-traditional styles, like Phoenix Ryesing, brewed with charred baseball bats for opening day. We've brewed beers with whole birthday cakes or doughnuts or waffles. We love to create ciders with exotic flavors from around the world, also honoring the simple apple at its core (see what I did there?) But we also take pride in the beer we brew to style, like our hefeweizen, Austrinken. #makingabsurdthenorm means we never take ourselves too seriously- but making good liquid? That we take very seriously.

Some things at Ciclops have changed since that September, but some have not. Michael & Rachel are on the other side of the bar now, forever OG family. Rich and Jill Muller went from opening-day customers to investors, then a step further. With Cindy and Jill now the owners, Ciclops is a 100% female owned and operated brewery.

Ciclops' core values remain true to our roots. Our community is why we are here, and we can't thank you enough for keeping us going. And we miss Kolby Garrison, late Owner/ legacy Head Brewer/ Assistant Janitor, every damn day
