Another great night of Trivia with King Trivia at Coles on Elmwood in Buffalo.  The wings were abundant and the specialty beers were flowing our players entered into seven fun rounds of Trivia.  Many new faces were seen tonight as we had three teams playing for supremacy.   Right from the beginning, Coles Weather took the lead, which they held for quite a while.  Throughout the rounds, though, our other two teams, Hugh Mungus and Stefano and the Pussycats were nipping at their heels. Teams groaned as they realized they had misidentified MC Hammer and cheered aloud to know they had identified the decade of flappers correctly.   Our Guess Who round stumped the teams at first but they were eventually able to identify the individual described.  Round number five shook things up as teams went Double or Nothing and Coles Weather struggled to hold their position in first.  Everyone loved Round Six where they identified the names to complete the idioms. There was a bunch of excitement in the room as teams waited to see the final answers.  Teams went double or nothing on this one as well and we had a new leader!  Hugh Mungus and Stefano and the Pussycats both passed Coles Weather with only one round to go!!  Our last round, Wii are the Champions featured questions about Wii Sports and American Idol winners. The teams could be overheard excitedly murmuring about who they thought the idols were.  Once all the teams had their scores submitted it was time to go over the answers. Teams clapped when they realized their answers were correct and waited to hear the final scores.  With a surprise drubbing, Hugh Mungus came in first with 63 points.  Coles Weather and Stefano and the Pussycats tied for second with 48 points. After a tie breaker question, Coles Weather finished in second and Stefano and the Pussycats were officially third. Everyone loved the gift certificates and the beer koozies they received as prizes from playing another great game of King Trivia at Coles!

It was another great night of Trivia at Coles Bar on Elmwood in Buffalo New York.  Gumbo was the special on the menu but our teams were enjoying the French Onion Soup so much that one of the teams even named themselves after it!!   We gathered as usual on the balcony with the beer, spirits and wings flowing as 4 teams battled it out for trivia mastery.   Our regulars were joined by some new faces tonight with our teams, Periodic Table Dancers, Pawsitively Purrfect, The Dragon Slayers, and French Onion Soup all participating in the fun.  As usual, we started with our General Knowledge round, where each team scored well.   Then moved on to our picture round with teams identifying the city that newspaper headlines came from.  Our third round was all about circus fun, being The Greatest Quiz On Earth and all teams did well with one team, The Periodic Table Dancers surging ahead in the scoring.  Our fourth round, Guess Who, stumped some of the teams but they all bounced back in the fifth round, Find the Connection.  Our Handout Round, Round Six, The Friend Zone, had players matching celebrity characters to their onscreen friends. Everyone had a great time with this!  In the last round, Improper Shakespeare, teams had to come up with Shakespearean plays with no proper nouns in the title.  All the teams surprised me with their depth of knowledge!   When it came down to it we had a run away winner, The Periodic Table Dancers with 69 points.  Second place was tightly contested with Pawsitevly Purrfect, and The Dragon Slayers tying at 35 points.  We went on to the tie breaking question and Pawsitevly Purrfect won to clinch second place.  The winners got Coles gift certificates and awesome beer swag ranging from t-shirts to playing cards and even tennis balls and koozies. A great night was had by all and I can't wait to do it all again next Wednesday at 7:00pm!

This week we had two teams vying for the win, We're Probably Not Winning and Team Punk'd.   We're Probably Not Winning went double or nothing early in Round One, our General Knowledge Round and jumped to a big lead.   Round Two is our Picture round, with this weeks topic being "Start spreading the news-Identify the New York City Landmark."  Both teams did well but failed to identify the NewYork Public Library.
Our Round Number Three, was a Round about people with swords and marine life.  This was a fun topic with the variety of questions  .  Round 4, Guess who, was a tough one this week.  Both teams got it correct on The last clue for two points however.   Round 5 was Find the Connection.   Everyone did great in this round!  Unfortunately number 9 tripped people up as no one could identify the U2 song referenced.   We're Probably Not Winning did however find the connection, which was Alfred Hitchcock films 🎥.  Our handout round, Round Six was called Vanity Plates and everyone did well matching the state to its nickname.   Round Seven had the teams identifying chess pieces And Olympic swimming strokes.   Team Punk'd beat We're Probably Not Winning in the swim stoke category but it was not enough to move them in the first place.   The final Score was We're Probably Not Winning in First with 54 points and Team Punk'd in second with 30 points. We had great prizes too!  Each team got gift certificates for Coles as well as their choice of T-shirt or Coozie with a Tennis Ball from Southern Tier Brewing Company and Pumking Ale so everyone left happy!
