This was a tight game for the most part, particularly places 2-5.
After failing on a double in round 1, The Human Targets doubled down and went for it again in round 2. That successful double pushed them into a comfortable lead, that they would not relinquish.
That would be the last successful double of the night. The Thomas Sisters held on to 2nd place, but could get no closer than 7 pts to THT.
After round 4, only 5 points separated 2nd from 5th, but things started to stretch out after that. Dragon Energy tried the only other double in round 7, a go-for-broke approach that would have given them the victory. However, they faltered on an answer that everyone got wrong, and came up well short. A valiant effort, for sure.
Congrats to The Human Targets. Well Done!
What a great rough-and-tumble game this was. The teams sitting at 1, 2, & 3 after round 5, finished 5, 6, & 7. A flurry of doubles in the last 2 rounds flipped the board.
8 points separated 1st from 8th at the end of round 5, with the last 4 teams in a tie for 5th. This pumped a lot of energy into the game.
Trebeck's Rejects jumped from 6th to 2nd with a double in round 7.
After a successful round 6 double, Thomas Sisters sat in 1st place, praying round 7 would not be a sports round.
However, Subpoena Delivery Dance Crew doubled both rounds 6 & 7 to go from a tie for 5th into the winner's circle. Round 7 was indeed sports dominant and the Sisters were not able to fend of SDDC's and Trebeck's successful doubles .
Fantastic night.
Congrats Subpoena Delivery Dance Crew!
Good fun game tonight. A lot of caution in this one, as the scores could have been considerably higher for a few teams. 4 different times teams could have doubled, but chose not to (one team twice). After round 3, it was pretty much a 2-team race.
The Thomas Sisters had a good double in round 2 that made them the front-runners through round 4. Diversity Poster kept pace, but a couple of doubles could have changed this whole story. However, a good double in round 5 pushed DP into the lead.
Sisters made a valiant effort to regain the lead. BUT. . .they will be Sleepless in the Valley for not doubling round 6, which would have ultimately done the trick (all things being the same in round 7).
Not to go unmentioned, Red Sox Fans started off slowly, but gained momentum through the game, finishing a respectable 3rd.
Everyone looked like they were having fun, even those not actually playing. Maybe we will wear off on them and they'll be back.
Congrats to Diversity Poster! Well done!
