Records were made to be broken. And sometimes it only takes a week to break them. Last week, How 'Bout Bruins set a JP's Sports Bar record with an (almost) perfect score of 104 points (they got every answer correct in the last round, but didn't double). I thought that score would last forever, and by forever, I mean seven days. Congrats to We Missed You, Ron aka Bel Triv Devoe on winning 1st place with a (perfect) perfect score of 115 points! It's very, very, very rare to have one team get every question correct. But to have two teams in consecutive weeks get perfect/almost perfects scores is like your chances of winning the lottery. How 'Bout Them Bruins! and Sick Boyz both had impressive scores in the 90s, and it was superrr close for 2nd place. How Bout' Them Bruins! took 2nd by one point over Sick Boyz (3rd place) 92-91. Will we see another team score perfect next week (would be three weeks in a row)? Can anyone beat 115 points and set a new, NEW record at JP's Sports Bar?

Wow! Wow! Wowww! If you were at JP's Sports Bar tonight, then you witnessed history. And by history I mean perfection! Congrats How 'Bout Them Bruins! who joined the "Century Club" with a score of 104 points! They got every question correct (yes, every question!) and scored five successful doubles. Aaaand they would have scored even higher (114) if they had doubled the last round. Not tooo far behind the Bruins, Whiskey Business finished in 2nd place (68) and Drunken Donuts took 3rd (56). Also, we'd like to thank Peter Dante for gracing us with his presence and "helping" multiple teams at trivia. It's usually/always a great night when you have a team score 100+ points and there are two Handsome Petes in the room.

Ending Strong

With the last day of the month these teams came out strong over at JP's. It wasn't clear who would win the early rounds with series of ties one right after the next. In the first round we had a three way tie with 7 points a piece going to Whiskey Buisness, How About Them Bruins, and The Most Popular Girls in School. The next round wasn't any easier although the race for second got cut to a two way tie with both How About Them Bruins, and 16 oz Curlers having 14 pts a piece, we still had a tie for third place with 12 pts going to both Whiskey Business, and Jolly Good. In round 3 we finally had our first place contenders How About Them Bruins totaling 26 points but still having Whiskey Business, and Jolly Good just behind them tied for second with 24 points a piece. Round 4 was when Jolly Good made their stride with their immense knowledge of the Cape Crusader (Batman) in the Guess Who round and grabbing 1st place. They jumped ahead in round 5 doubling up their points and stretching their lead to 52 points which was a 7 point cushion against the team closest to them. They continued this lead all the way to end and ended up becoming our Kings and Queens of Trivia. But if your like me and love a good underdog story, the real tale of triumph here was about a team who was not yet mentioned. That would be the Turd Scooters who started off in last place with 4 points and didn't make any strides until Round 6 where they grabbed their first top three ranked positions in the game and topped every team and doubled up the final round 7 when it came down to knowing Comedic Genius' Mel Brooks discography. A great reminder to its not how you start, but how you finish. Hopefully they comeback stronger next week to top our reigning champs, Jolly Good!
