- PUB QUIZ—Tuesdays @ 8:00pm
It's that time of the season when the leaves start turning, the days get shorter, and it becomes impossible to coax a Seattleite out of their natural habitat. As such, it was a quieter night for trivia -- but that didn't stop us from having a great time!
One group of returning players (and eventual winners) tested a new "butter up the quizmaster" strategy with a name change to Natalie's Favorites. Did it help their case? I'm not one to admit to collusion, but it didn't hurt...lucky for them, they also displayed some impressive trivia chops as well.
Taking it home in second / last place were new players Gravy, who finished the game, then made like their name and...dipped...before they were able to collect their prize. Hats off to this team for a great game AND a flawless French exit; you have to respect a double threat.
Next week's forecast is looking like rain, so get your umbrellas ready, Seattle!* We'll be waiting for you inside the warm, dry, and well stocked Marco Polo for a rematch!
*Disclaimer: anyone carrying an umbrella to next week's game will be immediately identified as a tourist and heckled accordingly.

Don't let a quiet bar fool you...even though most of Seattle stayed home to nurse their Labor Day hangovers this Trivia Tuesday, it still got real heated at Marco Polo Bar + Grill, with one of the highest-scoring games this venue's ever seen.
Solo player Clever Name Pending pulled a bold move right out of the gate with a successful first-round double or nothing that would have set them up nicely for a win...in any other week. With this week's high scores, they found themselves trying to keep up with the big dogs and slipped into last place despite an impressive showing.
Scratch and Sniff offshoots Las Guachas resisted the temptation to ride their former teammates' coattails, but maybe they should have split those teams a little more evenly; Las Guachas closed out three points shy of the last place prize. With a point total that would have won them the game in any other week, they still win some bragging rights. Right? That's a thing?
That brings us to perennial stinkers Scratch and Sniff. They certainly ate their spinach this week...as evidenced by their successful double down on our Popeye-themed Find the Connection round as well as on our 1985 themed round. They put up a team-best 74 points, which was enough to clinch them the w...
...NOT SO FAST. Newcomers Crack'n Rat City took it this week, with a whopping 79 points and an encyclopedic knowledge of Golf movies, the 1980s, and celebrity Bobs, as well as a devil-may-care attitude towards that double or nothing box.
Will Crack'n Rat City be back to defend their title, or will they slip off into the night never to be seen again? Let's hope for the former -- it certainly kept things interesting!
Wanna give these talented teams a run for their money (okay, or gift cards)? You know the drill...they'll be waiting for you at the Marco Polo, next Tuesday at 8pm.

What a night at Marco Polo Bar + Grill! We had some old faves and new flaves come out to play, and everyone had a blast.
Solo Player Ivermectin me Crazy was a silent assassin in the corner, dishing out answers -- and sometimes correct ones. They held their own, but ultimately finished one point shy of the third place spot. Hey, there is a prize for last place.
While coming in third place overall, Scratch and Sniff pulled off one of the rarest feats in King Trivia Lore: hitting that 10-point clue on Round #4's notoriously difficult "Guess Who." The jig is up, Scratch and Sniff. Now the internet knows how much you all love Zayn Malik! (Me too, tbh).
Second placers Mike "The Mooch" Richards proved to be a double threat. They're both good at trivia, AND they came with a team name so clever that they had to explain it to yours truly. A Quizmaster who can't take a Jeopardy joke? Tragic.
Annnnd that'll be two consecutive wins for Y'all Motherfuckers Need Science! Can they make it a hat trick? No pressure, guys...but everyone loves a hat trick. Y'all Motherfuckers played us out for the evening with a little bit of Lizzo and a whole lot of love. Well done, team.
If you're reading this, you already know the drill. Come challenge our defending champs - -or our defending losers -- a run for their money!
