About Scuttlebutt Taproom & Brewery

Founded by Phil and Cynthia “Scuttle” Bannan in 1996, the idea started as a homebrewing kit for Father’s Day 1990. As thoughtful as the gift was, it was also a source of strife – Scuttle wanted to use the kitchen for preparing meals for the family while Phil was crowding her out in favor of homemade beer. To maintain marital bliss we decided to move out of the kitchen and into a larger operation. A business plan was established in 1995 and we grew our operation from 5 gallon buckets to a 20 barrel system.

We brewed our first beer on July 4, 1996 with a 20 barrel system in the brew house, two 20 barrel fermenters and one 20 barrel bright tank. We brewed three styles of beer and finished out that first year with 170 barrels sold. Since then our capacity has grown and we have broadened our product line to include more than 20 styles of hand-crafted ales and lagers.

After more than 20 years Scuttlebutt Brewing Company remains family owned and independent.

Another beautiful night at the Scuttlebutt Taproom. There were 5 teams slugging it out for the top spot. Who will be on top at the end.

The Leftovers started out of the gate strong with a perfect round but did not double up. After the second round their lead grew to 3 points over the second place teams.

After round three we had a new leader, #Winning was successful in his double round.

Round four had The Leftovers flexing their muscle guessing Gerald Ford for the max 10 points. But who do we here coming up from the pack, it is PDRoE scoring 8 points in the fourth.

The fifth round had The Leftovers pulling away a little bit with the high score for the round.

In the sixth round, PDRoE brought their knowledge of the Spanish language and scored a perfect round and took the chance and doubled. Making them the third different team to be tops on the leaderboard.

Would the standings change after the last and final round? Nope, PDRoE takes home the title and sends The Leftovers home in second place for the second straight week. #Winning did a great job playing solo at the bar with Nate helping out a bit. HLP never really got on track like they are known to do and I think RitskT just came to harass the quizmaster.

Thank you to everyone who continues to come out every week to get this game going. I hope to see everybody next Tuesday.

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 16208 People’s Democratic Republic of Everett (PDRoE) 50 4 1.000

3 #Winning 43 2 0.500

First of all, thank you Scott for guest hosting for me so I could go cruising. It's great to be back hosting trivia at Scuttlebutt.

Four teams decided to get into the ring to see who would dominate.

After two rounds, The Leftovers held a small lead over 2nd and 3rd. Party Llamas gambled and lost with their knowledge of Bridges.

After four rounds, The Leftovers still held the lead guessing playing it safely and waiting to the four point clue.

Then BAM!!! Party Llamas gambles again and was successful jumping into the lead after the sixth round but how would the girls do in the final sports category?

The answer is, they did just enough to hold off The Leftovers. The visiting team HLP just edged out Ball & Chain for third.

Congratulations to Ball & Chain who will be tying the knot at the end of this month.

Thank you again for everyone who came out. The word is getting around about trivia at Scuttlebutt. This game is going to be "Huge" pretty shortly.

See everybody next week.

Game Rank Team # Team Name Score Teams Beaten Team Beat Average
1 Party Llama's 43 3 1.000
2 The Leftovers 41 2 0.667
3 13419 HLP 30 1 0.333
4 Ball & Chain 28 0 0.000

Guest hosting at a fairly new establishment proved to be a fun trivia evening. Four teams lined up to compete and one of them, "The People's Democratic Republic of Everett" successfully doubled in round 1 to start off and added another successful double later on. Ad in a perfect round of 10 (not doubled) and the rout was on! The 3 other teams battled for 2nd place and it was close throughout. Playing round after round with boisterous background sounds of cornhole, "HLP", "My Couch Pulls Out, But I Don't" and "Daddy's"stayed within a few points of each other until HLP pulled away late to take down 2nd prize.

2 13419 HLP 43 2 0.667
