About Settebello

Settebello is the most valuable and sought after card in the popular Italian card game Scopa. A deck of Scopa cards consists of 40 separate cards in 4 different suits. The suits include clubs, swords, cups and gold coins.

The Settebello is the nickname given to the seven of gold. Whichever player holds the Settebello at the end of a hand is awarded a point. The Settebello can also aid a player in winning a point for the primiera as well as for the player who holds the most gold cards. A typical game of Scopa is played to 11 points.

We had so much King Trivia fun at Settebello this evening. 8 teams battled their wits to see who would end up in the coveted first place. "R.I.P. Thorn" crushed many of the rounds doubling their scores staying in first for the majority of the game. But "A Case of the Mondays" kept up their usual impressive pace and ended up tying "R.I.P. Thorn" sending this nail biting evening of trivia to the tie breaker question. In the end, "A Case of the Mondays" won out snagging FIRST place with "R.I.P. Thorn" coming in SECOND. And another Settebello favorite, "The Bar Flys," came in THIRD.

It was a gorgeous evening in the MDR as eight teams competed to win King Trivia on Independence Day Eve. Scores were high, partially helped by one question being about a neighborhood 1/4 mile away. Scrippsies started with an early lead, but Dunder Baby Griffin took the lead in round 3 with back to back double-or-nothings and never looked back. If you're not second, you're third pipped the Scrippsies for second (third?) in the final round with their encyclopedic knowledge of Gary Oldman films. Scrippsies won the shots round along with third place. Good times were had by all!

We had another amazing battle of the wits at Settebello on Wednesday evening. 7 teams strained their brains competing for FIRST place. "A Case of the Mondays," a retuning favorite, ended the evening with 24 points. "Bar Flys" just squeaked right by them with 25 points. "Scrippsies" and "#FakeServers" tied with an impressive 27 points each. THIRD place went to "Lil' Sebastians" who earned 36 points. Another returning favorite, "MDR Trivia Stars" came in SECOND with 47 points. The evening's FIRST place winner, "Marina Del Trey," pretty much sailed through the trivia match scoring way ahead of the pack throughout the night ending with 53 points!! Another fun evening of King Trivia at Settebello was had by ALL!!!
