A warm and beautiful Summer night, ripe for trivia! Shadow Grove Brewing had the brews cold and the atmosphere HOT! H&Ms had a successful Round 1 Double or Nothing to take an impressive lead out of the gate, while Ladies4China did not and came out if R1 in a very unusual last place - OUCH! THAT BUUUURNS! Round 2 was a great visual round and many teams collected 8 points, but only four teams successfully earned double points: Unregistered Uncles with Benefits, Bulletproof Primates, Ladies4China and East of Mombasa. Round 3 had successful doubles from H&Ms and Los Flores, which heated up the competition. Teams seemed to breeze through the “Guess Who” round, but started scratching their heads trying to “Find the Connection,” which only H&Ms managed to do. A collective groan filled the pub as teams worked on Round 6, but then a hush fell throughout as Round 7 found little wiggle room between all the scores. In a final nail biter, H&Ms emerged victorious, Los Flores claimed 2nd place and The Bulletproof Primates edged out East of Mombasa for 3rd. Tonight was a fast paced, supercharged, excitement packed evening at Shadow Grove! DONs were unsuccessfully attempted, causing some teams to bail after playing a single round, but 9 teams hung in for a nail biting finish! When the dust settled, Select Start came in first, Gone in a “Flash” claimed 2nd and Ladies4China took 3rd place. Thanks, as always, to SGB for being great hosts, and thanks to all who came to play! QUIZ RECAP
What a fabulous evening at Shadow Grove Brewery! So many familiar, friendly faces welcoming me back and having a great time playing trivia! Thanks to Alejandro for filling in as QM and keeping the trivia troops happy. Shout out to the newbies who joined us and vow to return again in an effort to avenge the winners. Round 1 started out HOT with 3 successful DONs, lighting a competitive fire and resulting in R2 having FIVE teams successfully doubling! WHAT?! I KNOOOOW!!!! But wait - as if THAT wasn’t enough, R3 had THREE MORE successful DONs!!! We needed R4 to cool everyone’s jets with a no DON round. The brews kept flowing and the trivia kept trivia-ing and the competition got even more competitive by the final two rounds. Heading into R7 only 1 point separated the #2 and #3 teams. With 2 final round successful DONs, H&Ms pulled off a long coveted 1st place, That’s What She Said came in 2nd and Denied by Disney moved up from 4th to claim the 3rd place prize. Wowsie wow wow wow!!! Well done to everyone and, as always, a big THANK YOU to the staff at SGB for hosting us. Cheers! CC
