We had some enthusiastic teams at T.Phillip's tonight! Everyone had fun and battled hard. Dept. of Doom took a commanding lead right out the gate with a successful double down in the first round. Boom- 12 points! Round 2 brought nothing but 2s and 7s, and then Doom had a devastating 3rd round by getting half an answer wrong, but that was enough to give them a zero for that double or nothing. But rounds 3 and 4 had a smattering of 1s, zeros, and -1s all over the place, and it was looking like anybody's game.
But 9900k came to play and rounds 4-6 got them a 10, 9, and 10 respectively. everyone had a great round 6, but scores were all over the board. Round 7 decided it all, that's where players were players and folks just had to see how it was done. The high score was 5, and there were 2 of them, but it was enough to clinch the win for 9900k. Great job guys!
I hope all of you come back next week, you made it a great night!

What a venue! Super high ceilings, a wide open space, with lots and lots of beers to quench any thirst along with delicious offerings from the kitchen. Our three teams feasted like kings as they played through all seven rounds of trivia that had them captivated and even bewildered at times. St. John's team was late to the start but they performed quite admirably for first timers and made some solid headway in a couple of the rounds. But the main battle was between the rivals Los Mas Cabrones and Fontana Knowledge, both dominating the scorecard as they raced to the finish. Fontana Knowledge took the lead in round 4 and proceeded to open up and widen the gap all the way to the finish line making them the night's final victor. Well done to all the players and also to the friendly staff for keeping our competitors well fed and in great spirits.
Boy, the rain brought the people in tonight, and it was a rousing, fun game! Tonight saw some old friends return, and some regulars and newbies and hope to returns!
Dept. of Doom caught the early lead with big fat double down 12, and it was looking like there was no stopping them but wait- King Summit kicked butt in round 2, snatching the lead out of their hands just like that with a double down 16, bringing their total to 22 for the first 2 rounds. I thought they'd take it all as they led with a 26 by round 3, but then they called it a night and Dept. of Doom retook their commanding lead.
Los Mas Cabrones was keeping steady scores throughout the night, and just to show anything can happen, Champagnions was all over the board with 2 unsuccessful double downs in 2 and 5, but then they came back with a vengeance with a fantastic double in round 6, giving them a 20 for that round, and they ended up finishing second for the night! Los Mas Cabrones wound up third, but there truly was no stopping our old friends Dept. of Doom who won the night with an impressive 57!
Thanks for the fun everyone!
