- PUB QUIZ—Tuesdays @ 7:00pm
Pop music parallelism was in play tonight, for as the game began with a question about Lady Gaga, so too did it end.
In between all that, the Drinking Round consisted of a challenge to name as many Nobel Peace Prize recipients as possible. The General Washingtons initiated a Pax Columbia with their victory, having named the largest number of Laureates.

Though the Vice Presidential Debate was scheduled for this night during trivia, a brave basket of know-moreables decided to forego the political spectacle and test their intellectual might at the Tam!
Their reward: a Drinking Round based entirely on - wouldn't you know it - Vice Presidents. To the soothing sounds of Tommy Edwards' "It's All in the Game" (written by former Vice- and President Calvin Coolidge!) teams were tasked with naming as many of the 47 Vice Presidents of the USA as they could manage. It was Aggressive Foreplay who managed most: 18 to be exact, earning them sweet alcoholic success.

This week marked the thrilling return of my speaker system at full health! For the last few weeks, your humble Quizmaster was limited to one speaker due to an equipment misfortune. Thanks to my heroic audio engineer friend Greg (thanks dude!) and his practiced skill at wielding a soldering iron, my music and voice were once again able to echo to all corners of the Trivia Kingdom.
What with the exciting/provocative/educational/terrifying political spectacle that had taken place on television the night before this game, I endeavored to provide some levity for the Drinking Round while still maintaining contemporary relevance to said event. And so: having assembled a list of every single character who appeared on the TV show "The West Wing" in a speaking role, I humbly asked the teams to name as many of these as they could.
Having just finished watching all 156 episodes myself in an embarrassingly short time, the score of this humble Quizmaster - should I have played - would have potentially been equally embarrassing. The winning team however, who correctly named 28 characters for their win, displayed no shyness at all in their victory. Indeed, after I called their triumph, a representative from the General Washingtons rushed up to my trivial tower, and thanked me for "finally asking something in [her] wheelhouse" (obviously I had no knowledge this would be the case) and then planted an unexpected kiss on my cheek.
It's good to be the King!
