Over the years, combatants in the ring of trivia glory have been prolific in their feedback concerning the content of The Quiz. "More history!" they've exclaimed, "Less entertainment!" they've complained, "I can't think about anything going on in the world right now because of that sweater that you're wearing!" they've quaked. But more than any other request, the one that I've heard most is a request for more science related content. And in tonight's competition, the writers delivered on that request as though they'd been honing their discipline at Los Alamos Laboratory.
When the dust settled and everyone removed their lab coats and placed their slide rules back into their pocket protectors, The Mules managed to find themselves back in the top 3 just in front of Pobody's Nerfect. Rising to the top of the data set was a team that was solely successful in negotiating the scifi movie tag line round with a doubling maneuver -- they, the ever-changing yet always familiarly named Sister Act: Tokyo Drift.

Tonight's game proved to perhaps be the most difficult yet during League Play. Perhaps because this crowd is not big on sports (round 5's Case Keenum was not a well-known answer), perhaps simply because everyone was still recuperating from their Labor Day exertions.
The Drinking Round for the night was based on the fact that John Williams performed his annual Hollywood Bowl concert. Therefore, I had teams attempt to list as many feature films that he composed the soundtrack for. Aggressive Foreplay reigned victorious with an impressive 37 correct answers (out of an even more impressive 107 films that he's written the music for so far)!
In the end, the triumphant team was one that hadn't played here in a year and a half -- Tapioca Pudding won the game, and will be welcomed back as valiant opponents whenever their next appearance may be.
