The Nerdz (pictured first) are back on top!  The team formally known as "I can haz nerdz," dominated the Arsenal tonight!  After they hit a successful double or nothing in the 2nd round, they rode that energy all the way to first place!  Their round 2 double was the only one of the night!  No one could keep up after that.  Uhhhhh...Emily? (pictured second. Not pictured: Emily) tried to catch up but could only get within 14 points of the Nerdz.  The Nerdz were everyone's carrot, taunting them all to finish the race strong.  On the other side of the score board, we had two teams whose spirit kept the room light.  Velocity Raptors (pictured third) and the Flock of Segals (pictured fourth) stayed positive until the very end and finished in a tie.  It's groups like theirs that remind me why we play; for camaraderie and fun!  Thanks for coming out and including me in your adventures!

Tonight I realized there is a flail/ mace (pictured fourth) hovering over my head while reading trivia at The Arsenal.  Pretty appropriate decor for a place called the Arsenal.  It'll come in handy if I catch someone using a smart phone during King Trivia.  Just kidding!  But seriously.  Breaking rule number two (no outside sources) is a pretty serious crime in the trivia world, but I won't maim anyone over it.  I think there is a higher chance of the flail/mace falling on me than me learning how to wield it.

In other news, eight teams battled valiantly for the $50 Arsenal gift card.  A very competitive group!  It was hard to see a clear leader until the beginning of round 7.  Before then, the majority of the teams were neck and neck all night.  At the end of the 6th round, the Primorsk Players (pictured first) took a 6 point lead with the Nerdz of Vale (pictured second) nipping at their heels in second.  It all came down to who could name the most US States that are referenced on a standard Monopoly board.  Shave My Back (pictured third) went for the double or nothing option and ended with a big zero after missing only one US state.  They claim they were missing their conservative teammate who prevents them from going all or nothing in every round (they went for the double in the 6th round too and came up with zero after missing only one answer).  Sometimes you just have to go big or go home and I respect that.  They didn't go away empty handed though!  They ended up placing third and winning a $10 gift card!  The Primorsk Players ended up taking the grand prize when they successfully doubled down, naming all 10 US states! The Nerdz of Vale stayed right behind them and ended in second.  Congratulations to the winners! Thanks to everyone for coming out to play!!

It came down to a photo finish tonight at The Arsenal!  Uhhh... Emily? AKA: Cha-Cha Pete (pictured second) and Primorsk Players (pictured first) were riding to the winner's circle side by side.  By the time round 7 came around, the two teams were tied at 40.  The last round decided the champion by asking for the 9 different cities that have their own Real Housewives production.  Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) Cha-Cha Pete only knew 7 of the 9 while the reigning Arsenal champions (Primorsk Players) knew 8.  It was a close one for sure! Even 2 Stadiums, 1 Team (pictured third) were within striking distance.  A very competitive night!
