About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

The big question this week at The Famous on Brand in Glendale wasn't part of the trivia quiz. The big question of the night was about the quiz-tastic competition that takes place each week in the friendly confines of The Famous.

The big question was: could they do it again? Could The Bad News Barristers finish in the top spot for the third week in a row!? Could this dynamic trio pull off the of-so-rare three-win hat trick!?

Things didn't look good midway through the night, with newcomers Truffle Shuffle holding a solid lead through the first five rounds. But the Shufflers stumbled in Round Six, opening the door for the Barristers to jump ahead, along with Triviasaurus Rex to an oh-so-slim one-point lead with just one round left!

As it so often does, it all came down to a decisive Round 7! Would the Baristers pull off the hat trick!?!? NOOOOOO!! The Triviasaurs used their tiny little arms to grab hold of seven points in the final, and it was Bad News for the Barristers, who logged in with five points, for second place.

Whew! That was exciting! Come see for yourself, next week at The Famous.

Are we witnessing the beginning of a dynasty? Perhaps. For the second straight week, the youthful, fresh-faced, innocent looking duo Bad News Barristers (photo #1 both this week and last) had some very bad news indeed for their competitors. They showed no mercy, racking up an impressive 77 points to take the win.

Now, it's not like the competition rolled over for 'em. Oh no! Hawaiian Time was anything but lei'd back, scoring an impressive 67 to take 2nd. And Super Harvard entered the Ivy League of top-three finishers with 62.

On the other end of the spectrum, Boats & Hoes ended up in last place, but they didn't mind at all, having won the drinking round! (After winning the drinking round, Boats & Hoes' answer sheets got a lot harder to read. Coincidence? I think not!)

Come make a name for yourself at The Famous in Glendale. The paparazzi will gather again next Thursday. See ya then.

An impressive come-from-behind win for The Barristers this week at The Famous in Glendale! (It was mostly due to Devan's good brain, right Richie!? - that's them there in photo #1. Can you believe how smug Devan looks!? Sheesh!!)

Formidable foes Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink finished just one point behind with 64, and Electric Mayhem rounded out our top three with 61.
