About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Well THAT was a tight fight! After getting off to a slow start at this week's trivia battle at The Famous on Brand in Glendale, the stalwart, intrepid and always determined ladies of Yer a Quizard Harry fought their way back to the top of the score sheet!

They usually play as a group of five or six thinkers, but last night the Quizards were a duo. That's them in photo #1 right over there! But, ya know, it's the year of the woman, it seems, and girl power was certainly in the house as they doubled in rounds 5 and 7 to finish regulation play with a formidable 67 points, tied with the much larger faction calling themselves Our Team Just Got Fired Today!

The leader of OTJGFT is right there in photo #9, and he was looking pretty confident as he turned in answer sheet 7 for a successful double, and a tie with the Quizards!

The tiebreaker was a tense and fraught affair, that gave the edge to OTJGFT, but we had enough admiration to go around, and we can hardly wait to do it all again next week at The Famous. Come join us!!

We were impressed by the back-to-back-double fueled, come-from behind victory orchestrated by The Interns this week at The Famous on Brand in Glendale. Nice going, Interns! That leap from the middle of the pack right into the winner's circle is an inspiration for trivia teams everywhere.

Two of our favorite frequent players, Yer A Quizzard Harry and The Barrelers rounded out our top three finishers, with two other teams ending up falling short by just one single point!!

That's right! Bad News Barristers and Drunk on CNN proved to be formidable competitors that are an inspiration to us all! Better luck next week, trivia warriors!!
