About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

Wow! What a night at The Famous On Brand in Glendale! The house was rockin' in celebration as the Dodgers slugged their way past the Cubs and into their first World Series appearance in 29 years. Seemed like everyone was a Dodgers fan last night.

Ya know who else had a good night? Electric Moustache, who blew past their competition like a Clayton Kershaw fastball to win the night with a strong 58 points! Caribbean Heat came in second with 49, and two of our favorite regulars, The Bad News Barristers and The Barrelers, finished in a tie with 46 points apiece.

The Barristers broke the tie with a high-calorie count dessert while, at the other end of the spectrum, Bippity Boppity Boobies whiffed in the end with unsuccessful double-or-nothing attempts in the last three rounds. We admire your courage, BBB!

King Trivia is more than a quiz! It's more than an evening of entertainment. It's more than a community of like-minded lovers of useless and arcane knowledge. I mean, yes, it is ALL of those things. But it also something more! It's a place where love can take root and flourish.

That's right! LOVE! Thus it was that Chris and Katie (there they are, showing off their wedding-ring bling in photo #1) were back after a multi-week honeymoon in Fiji! That's RIGHT! They got married, and it's all because of the beneficial effects of participating in our quiz week after week.

SO how did they DO in their return to competition? Well, not bad. Their team, The Barrelers finished with a respectable 50 points after failing to double in either of the first two rounds, yet having all correct answers!

So who won? No surprise there. Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink led the scoring for the millionth time with a strong 77.

Come on down to The Famous next week for trivia and - if you're lucky (or as cute as Chris and Katie) - you might just find the love of your life.
