About The Famous Bar

The Famous craft cocktail lounge is located in Glendale's historic Huntley-Evans building, directly across the street from the Americana at Brand. It follows an eclectic and rich pedigree of establishments that have called this building home in the last century, most notably the early Glendale landmark, The Famous Department Store. The Famous, true to its heritage, embraces the classic art of fine craft cocktail creation, invented in the United States in 1856, using bitters, juices, syrups, and infusions, prepared in-house using fresh ingredients from local markets and growers. Cocktails served at The Famous are identical to those served nearly 100 years ago when the building was constructed.

The lovely ladies of Yer a Quizard Harry had a very good night at The Famous in Glendale Yer a Quizard Harry this week. Not only did one of their own celebrate her 28th birthday (Happy birthday, Ellen!), they also beat their frequent competitors Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink by a whopping 20 points!

What does a whopping 20-point win look like? Why, it looks a lot like the satisfied expressions on the faces of Harry's Quizards pictured right there in photo #1. Congrats, ladies. You're awesome!

The Jeopardy guys didn't take it too hard (that's them in photo #2), and we're sure they'll be back to their formidable selves next week. Hope you'll join us then for another rousing night of fun and trivia.

Yes, indeed. The Imp is correct! And once you've honed your mind to razor sharpness, what better way to test your mental mettle than a vigorous evening of KING TRIVIA at The Famous on Brand in Glendale! 

There was testing aplenty going on once again this week, as the formidable fellows of Because Jeopardy Won't Let Us Drink were as menacing and invincible as a blonde chick riding a dragon! Yup, they won the night going away, and were mostly drunk the whole time.

Kudos to Big Willie Style for their staunch 2nd Place finish, a mere 29 points behind the Jeopardy crew. (29 POINTS!! Sheesh! We're gonna start imposing a 25-point handicap on BJWLUD, just to make it more challenging for 'em!)

GryffindWhores finished in third with 52, and undoubtedly would have done even better if their wands weren't as warped as their team name! That's them pictured right there in photo #1 above, and ya gotta admit, if ever there was a trio of women with warped wands, it's gotta be them, right? I mean, come on! Everyone knows Hermione was a good girl. (Until that awful Ron Weasley shows her his "wand" and corrupted her for all time). Weasley! He deserves the name!!

I also want to give a shout out to WANNAHAWKALOOGIE, just because I love their most excellent team name. And yes...yes I do!!
