A rough start to trivia tonight at Fountainhead, with some teams not getting into double digits until round 3 or 4. Spy Movies and famous directors stumped the teams but good, however they were able to shake it off and double up on the Find the Connection and Handout rounds. Coming back from adversity is the mark of a true champion, and while all teams displayed that internal reservoir of grit, moxie, and gumption, there can only be one champion, and this time it was Ask My Balls, just back after a week off and beating out the second place team by a mere two points!

With defending champs Ask my balls out this week, regulars and newcomers alike slugged it out for their vacant crown. Ladies & the Tramps were beefed up with enough members to form Fleetwood Mac, and their feast and famine on double or nothings kept them in the hunt, but the consistently improving play of Jonathong was too much for 'em in the end, and they had to settle with silver. A few of the second-and-third-timers started to find their trivia groove, too, playing confidently with double or nothings. Once those training wheels are off they'll be a force to reckon with.

Hot summer trivia nights continue at the Fountainhead. Tuesday saw a record 10 teams duke it out for trivia supremacy, and even a nail-biting, chest-clutching, show-stopping tie-breaker finisher between Ask My Balls and The Black Mambas, the two stalwarts of Fountainhead trivia if ever there were any. The Lady Doctors in the House lady doctors dropped in to absolutely crush round 7 with a 9 out of 10 in Mel Brooks knowledge, and locked up third, while new teams like Veldman and the Cheftastics made strong competitive debuts. The Hot Tamales played fun and funny, supplementing their answers with lovely little drawings when they were unsure in an attempt to curry favor with the quizmaster. All told, a wonderful night of trivia in downtown San Jose.
