The Oaks Tavern. King Trivia. A surprise birthday party. It doesn't get much better (or rowdier) than that!

It was the evening of the Double Or Nothing - all but one team successfully doubled in both the Picture Round and the Final Round. And Rick Steves' Only Fans earned the full 10 points in the Guess Who? round.

That's a Pretty Nice Calzone You Have There took the early lead. Quiz Me Like One of Your French Girls rode perfect scores in the Find the Connection and Handout Rounds to win the third place gift certificate.

But it was Where Is the Fire? who ulimately came out on top. They also won the Drinking Round!

QUIZ RECAP

A spooky night of King Trivia transpired at The Oaks Tavern, even if it was several days before Halloween, no one was in a costume, and the only candy was in liquid form.

"Who waits with her crush Linus for the Great Pumpkin in It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown?" shall hereafter be known as the Double Or Nothing Killer after three teams answered incorrectly, earning the dreaded zero points. I assure you, Lucy does not have a crush on her brother.

Less Awesome, More Sauced was one of the teams victimized by Sally Brown, but rebounded with a perfect 20 points in the Find the Connection round to finish second.

Where Is the Fire? scored a a best-possible 28 points over the first two rounds on the way to ultimate victory.

In addition to finishing in third place, Boiz Night also won the drinking round thanks to their superior knowledge of scary television theme songs.

HALLOWEEN THEMED EVENT AT THE OAKS RECAP

It's the freakin' weekend...or perhaps the freaky weekend, since it's time for some Halloween trivia! The Oaks opened on this balmy October afternoon to start off a spooktacular Saturday in style. While the crowds might not have been overwhelming, the energy inside was as crazy as ever. 

Two titans arrived ready to throw down like only The Oaks knows how. Boos and Booze chose a humble booth as their throne of domination, with their eternal rivals Less Awesome, More Sauced sidling over to the bar. 

This was a trivia morn' for the history books. Round after round, these two teams traded blows and shifted position on the scoreboard. You never knew who would take the top spot, and the scores kept growing tighter. By the end of the game, we were a mere point apart before Round 7. 

Our final round brought up the holiday classic, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. With the game up for grabs, it was a nail-biting ten minutes of brain searching and prayer. When the clock struck zero and DJ Pandora played the Monster Mash, it was time to crown a winner. 

Jumping into the lead Less Awesome, follow oh so close by Boos and Booze. Another wonderful trivia battle in the books, and Halloween is just around the corner. Come on down to The Oaks for more great times, great food, and great trivia action!
