It's the freakin' weekend...or perhaps the freaky weekend, since it's time for some Halloween trivia! The Oaks opened on this balmy October afternoon to start off a spooktacular Saturday in style. While the crowds might not have been overwhelming, the energy inside was as crazy as ever.
Two titans arrived ready to throw down like only The Oaks knows how. Boos and Booze chose a humble booth as their throne of domination, with their eternal rivals Less Awesome, More Sauced sidling over to the bar.
This was a trivia morn' for the history books. Round after round, these two teams traded blows and shifted position on the scoreboard. You never knew who would take the top spot, and the scores kept growing tighter. By the end of the game, we were a mere point apart before Round 7.
Our final round brought up the holiday classic, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. With the game up for grabs, it was a nail-biting ten minutes of brain searching and prayer. When the clock struck zero and DJ Pandora played the Monster Mash, it was time to crown a winner.
Jumping into the lead Less Awesome, follow oh so close by Boos and Booze. Another wonderful trivia battle in the books, and Halloween is just around the corner. Come on down to The Oaks for more great times, great food, and great trivia action!

I believe it was the great American poet Emily Dickinson who said, "There is nothing more entertainingly competitive than a night of King Trivia at The Oaks Tavern."
All seven teams attempted a Double Or Nothing in Round 1 with only a single team doing so unsuccessfully. Every team playing King Trivia tonight had at least two perfect Double Or Nothings. As Oscar Wilde once said, "Dude!"
Squid James and Where Is the Fire? continued to share the lead until the Guess Who round gave Where Is the Fire? a two-point advantage. But a perfect score in Round 7 gave Squid James the final lead and a first place finish.
Squid James also won the Drinking Round, identifying this week's backwards song as "I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" by Whitney Houston.
Will Emily Dickinson sue me for misquoting her in public? Will Oscar Wilde retain the same lawyer? Find out next week on an all new episode of King Trivia at The Oaks Tavern!

Five intrepid teams braved the sub-80 degrees weather to take part in tonight's King Trivia at The Oaks Tavern in Sherman Oaks.
Round 1 saw Where Is The Fire? take the lead after a successful Double Or Nothing. A perfect score in the Picture Round put The Codependence Crew in first place and they never looked back. Less Awesome, More Sauced earned the maximum 20 points in the Find the Connection round to bump them up to second place.
As for the Drinking Round, I promise to never make it BTS-based again.
Will Paris come back from Brooklyn? Will Brooklyn come back from Queens? Find out next week on an all new episode of King Trivia at The Oaks Tavern!
