About Big Time Brewery & Alehouse

Big Time Brewery opened its doors in December 8th, 1988 and we have been brewing and serving craft beer ever since. We are Seattle's original brew pub. A classic American Alehouse located in an brick building with high ceilings and lots of stained wood. The pub has an antique bar.

Big Time usually has at least 12 beers on tap, plus a featured cask-conditioned "real ale" on the hand pump. Our standard brews are: Scarlet Fire IPA, Atlas Amber Ale and Coal Creek Porter which are on tap at all times. The other three taps and the cask conditioned pump rotate from week to week with some of the many specialty beers we produce over the year.

The brewery is a 14 barrel JV Northwest system consisting of a gas fired brew kettle, an infusion mash tun with mixer, a hot liquor back, a wort cooler, (5) 14 barrel fermenters, a bright beer tank, and (20) 7 bbl serving tanks.

The kitchen features pizza, sandwiches, burgers, salads and tasty snacks. We serve generous portions at very reasonable prices. Food is available until 11:00pm.

QUIZ RECAP

Three teams battled for prize money on Wednesday night at Big Time Brewery & Alehouse in Seattle. Round One ended in a three way tie, while Round Two saw Cornstache and Happy Gilmore Girls break into first place with perfect scores in the picture round -- sadly, neither team went "Double or Nothing". Oh what might have been!

In Round Three, none of the teams knew the correct decade when ice makers, wireless TV remotes and video tape recorders were invented. (Like tonight's Quiz Master, these showed up in the 1950s.) This was bad news for Oedipus & the Mofos, who had aimed for a comeback by going "Double or Nothing". It was nothing but admiration for them this time.

The scrappy Oedipus & the Mofos went for the full ten points in Round Four, "Guess Where?". The reference to Aberdeen Island misdirected them to the Falkland Islands and a loss of one point. Happy Gilmore Girls and Cornstache waited for more information and took six points when they correctly guessed Hong Kong.

Oedipus & the Mofos went for broke and checked off Double or Nothing in Round 5. They went broke, even though they missed just a single question. Happy Gilmore Girls also went "Double or Nothing" and leapt into solo First Place with a perfect score.

Going into the seventh and final round, Cornstache was just ten points behind Happy Gilmore Girls. They went Double or Nothing, but came up short when just seven of their ten countries had made the railway mileage top ten list. A correct answer would have thrust them into first place. Happy Gilmore Girls happily took their seven points and first place.

A fun time was had by all. Quiz Master Jim named Oedipus and the Mofos "Most Gutsy" for their multiple (misguided) attempts to maximize points.
