About Hyperion Public - Silver Lake

We are your local neighborhood restaurant and bar where everyone is welcome hence the word "Public" in our name. Our restaurant has a rough luxe decor serving quality food and cocktails, a mix of craft and traditional beers, along with a good selection of wines, in a communal atmosphere. Hidden in the back of the restaurant is our upstairs bar and lounge also serving food and cocktails, that has a jukebox, dartboard, piano, mic, and TVs for sports (Sunday NFL Ticket).

QUIZ RECAP

Night after night, week after week, teams show up to do their best armed only with a pen and knowledge and courage that is screwed to the deck.  After all, what is trivia but a fundamental test of your memory and critical thinking skills?  It cuts right to the core of who you are as a person.  If you tell a person, "Oh I'm bad at trivia," are you not saying that you just don't want to/like to remember things?  Or care about how the collective consciousness of human experience is built around you in a assembly of facts?  Every little thing just boils down to what we as a species know.  I'm saying all of this because I so greatly admire each person who comes out to play trivia every week, knowing that they are exposing their vulnerabilities as people because other teams will judge them literally if they are smart or not.  It takes bravery to do it.  I think every single person should be commended who participates, regardless of how the place or perform, because it requires genuine courage to show how much or how little you know.  Or are willing to admit you know (Real Housewives TV iterations).  Cheers to you, Trivia Players!

Last night Fake News obliterated the competition by taking an early lead and sticking to it.  Not to be discouraged, team after team attempted to double down - probably more failed doubles than I have ever seen in a single night.  But that is what is great about trivia nights: when the going gets tough, the teams desperately double down in a Hail Mary attempt to stay in the game.  I Could Go On nabbed the drinking round by a sliver of a point, and Never Been Brissed coasted easily into second place.  All in all, it was once again a wonderful success at trivia once again at Hyperion Public!
