QUIZ RECAP

Despite dark, foreboding skies, high winds, intermittent rain and the threat of
flash flooding, nine teams gathered at Killarney's last night for yet another
round of King Trivia Pub Quiz! One team was even a newbie who registered on our
website and actually performed so well, they tied for fourth place, just out-
side the winner's circle. We welcome the Smart Aces!

Hats off to our quiz writers who have provided so far, in Quiz Master Lou's
humble estimation in any case, one of the best question sets ever! Clever,
creative and diverse (although perhaps a little heavy on TV shows), last night's
rounds kept the action close and competitive. The Round Three Theme Round of
haikus describing TV crime shows was absolute genius! Likewise, the Find-the-
Connection Round kept everyone on their toes. Especially question seven, the
answer which, sadly, no one got. This prompted Quiz Master Lou, in an impromptu
fit, to act out the terrible consequences of being sent to Room 101 in Orwell's
1984. A feat which left the house slack jawed. But which was capped off by the
admonition that the State wins in the end if Liberty minded citizens do not
stand for their rights. But I digress...

Wossamatta-U performed the proverbial (apropos, given the biblical subject
matter) miracle by doubling down in Round Seven's Divine Dozen and correctly
naming ten of Jesus' apostles for an astounding first place win. IFFY!, which
had been running in first, got knocked to second and Tequila Mockingbird ended
up in third.
