QUIZ RECAP

Wow! Killarney's really packed 'em in last night as we commenced yet another wild
and wooly evening of King Trivia Pub Quiz! Twelve teams consisting of nine regs
and three newbies set things off. Welcome to No Ragrets (a tattoo from a movie),
Counter Culture Ladies and their husbands, The Winners! (Who ended up in fourth
place, just outside the winner's circle. Ironic, yes? I tried to warn 'em...)

Tequila Mockingbird proved once again why Quiz Master Lou has dubbed them the
resident champs with another, consecutive win in first place. The Dallas Boolers
Club (what the h3ll is a Booler, anyway?!?) leaped dramatically into second with
an eleventh hour Double-or-Nothing while Pickles on a Plate, who had been leading
steadily from Round One got shouldered mercilessly into third. Man! What a race!

In the style points categories, the picture round inspired some wag to identify
Kitty Cat the Simba from the Addams Family as "You ain't lion". Elvis the Alligator
from Miami Vice got the lion's share of wrong guesses as Crocodile Hunter. (See
what I did there?) On our theme round of clever Hawaiian minutiae, instead of
Rainbow Warriors for the name of their university athletic teams, one team came
up with the name of a body part that is the alliterative noun following pineapple!
In round five, unable to produce Stephen Root but finding the connection, they
tried to grow Joe Mulch. But the best answers of desperation came in round seven
when the exact names of the Terminator sequels eluded most folks. We got...
