QUIZ RECAP

A huge turn out at Killarney's last night kept the place rockin' while the quiz
teams were hoppin' as we headed into our last quarter slice of July. Quiz Master
Lou had a Twilight Zone moment last night when a newbie team registered their
name and handed in their first round quiz page. Adding them to the roster, QM
Lou looked down and noted the moniker "Scott's Tots". But, there's a Scott's
Tots over at the Lion & Crown. Are you guys related? Where's the tall girl
that usually leads that team? Blank stares. They didn't know what the H E
double hockey sticks QM Lou was talking about. (Cue the weird music sting as
Vera Miles sees her doppelganger grab her suitcase in the bathroom mirror of a
lonely bus stop on a rainy night!) What?!? There's another Scott's Tots? Why,
how cosmically coinky dinky is that? I mean, come on. Scott's Tots?!? What
are the odds? Why? What does it mean?!? SOMEBODY TELL ME!!! (And that's
when Jimmy Stewart dashed out into the snowy night, stopped right in front of
the camera and slowly, strangely, gazed left to right as his sanity began to
slip...)

But, I digress... The astounding, piratical Ship It! (along with Blood, Bath
& Beyond) pulled off a dramatic win in Round Seven with a Double-or-Nothing
that allowed them to jump the queue and displace front runners Dallas Boolers
Club, pushing that team into second place. Seal Team 3 garnered a well deserved
third. Best answers of desperation came in the Picture round as baby boomer
teams surrendered to the moment by creating their own, flip names for video
games known by their symbols...
