What a great evening at Killarney's! It was good to be back after a harrowing
adventure which prevented Quiz Master Lou from making it to his appointed rounds
last week. You see, there were these guys who kept mistaking me for someone
named George Kaplan. Turns out they were spies! And they thought that I was a
spy, too! And there was this crazy blonde who made a pass at me on a train and
then she turned out to be a spy! Well, one thing led to another and... And...
Actually, the battery in my truck had died. But it was a spy! Named George
Kaplan! And there was an Alfred Hicthcock question in Round One last night.
All in all, it was a fantastic question set. The Picture Round was especially
fun with a lot of Double-or-Nothing's going south because one had to get the correct
Back to the Future! Round Six was also tops with a great subject... Matching
the Old West Legend to it's Historic Figure. Quiz Master Lou, being one of the
old guys, remembers the Time-Life Old West Series commercials from TV and the
catch phrase that identified John Wesley Hardin. (Shoot, mam. Wish't Ida been
playin'.) I'm tipping my Stetson to our quiz writers.
The Poonswagglers, returning after a long absence, came back with style by making
a narrow, one point win for first place, pushing the deadly alliance of Blood,
Bath & Beyond/Ship It! into second with a 67 to 66 score! One Left in the Chamber
proved they could stand with the best of them without their fearless leader, Eric
by capturing the third position. It was also nice to have Niko and the Barflies
playing again and a shout out to the loyal regulars Seal Team 3 and WossaMatta-U.
Them's the words. Spread 'em around! See ya next week!
