QUIZ RECAP

Nor rain, nor snow, nor dark of night shall stay these quiz masters from the
swift completion of their appointed rounds! But traffic jams might slow them
down... Despite accidents and congestion, the show did go on at Killarney's
last night allowing the hale and hearty to reap the rewards of a match well
played. After all, what's a little precipitation? Well, one question suggested
when mixed with pollutants, it's something entirely to be avoided.

A shout out to IPMP, One Left in the Chamber, the deadly alliance of Ship It! &
Blood, Bath & Beyond (and of course, our wait staff team Barflies) who came out
and braved the elements. Tequila Mockingbird feathered their nest with first
place honors while Seal Team 3 took second and Pickles on a Plate snagged third!

In our mirth department, one question posited "What city is spread over two
continents?" Which led Quiz Master Lou to ponder whether the city was smooth
or chunky? Which led in turn to thinking about butter knifing a slab of city
from a jar to spread upon the landscape. Then I thought about cities in jars.
Which made me think of Krypton. Which made me think of Super Dog for some,
strange reason... But, I digress. The match the war movie to its actor in
Round Six was an interesting challenge, simply because of the title choices.
Quiz Master Lou actually aced that one in his morning coffee test run with some
strategic guesses, a feat which no team at Killarney's reproduced. (Yes!) That
got me to thinking that a King Trivia question set devoted to World War Two
would make a great subject! How about it, Quiz Overlords? WWII produced some
of the most enduring and striking effects on the planet and created its own
culture, spanning the entire spectrum of categories from history, music, movies,
sports, science and more!
