When Artemis halted the winds that blew the Greek ships during the Trojan War, she only did it because she was hunting and taking a bead on a fat boar. She had her bow and arrow all tensed up and the slightest wind in any direction would’ve fouled her shot. So, yes, she stopped the winds and for a while the Greek fleet had to hang out in Aulis which I guess would be the modern day equivalent of Chico, California: nothing to do there. The fleet was like: “For our trouble, why don’t you share some of that boar with us, Arty?” This was the wrong question. Don’t call her Arty. That fleet was never heard from again. Point is: There are no wrong questions when it comes to trivia night at the Glendale Tap! Let’s talk.
In honor of all the musical acts of Round 2, the Drinking Round saw one person from each team sing a song from one of those acts. No one should have to hear “Wonderwall” more than once in a night, but I was wrong! Treating us to the dulcet tones of My Chemical Romance was Jewel Thieves. Their team member practically threatened the audience to get the win and sometimes that’s all it takes. If you can’t win by singing well, you might win my scaring me. Great job!
Stealing jewels and hearts with a third place showing of 60 points was the aforementioned Jewel Thieves! Check For Fruits took second with 67 points. And running the show with 73 points was Jazz Cats! Meow.
Do come back next week for more King Trivia fun at the Glendale Tap, won’t you?
